Our Local Impact Committees are groups of interested folks who form dynamic teams to bring Critical Thinking, STEM Exploration, and Global Learning to local communities with InsightSTEM. Members form a unique global community for exploration!
ACROSS THE Usa
Fourteen Local Impact Committees from coast to coast, each coming up with their own areas of specific focus and development in sharing STEM exploration for local communities and around the world.
ACROSS INDIA
Seven Local Impact Committees across India with a focus on using low cost, portable, tinkerable technology to share STEM exploration with urban and rural communities of all kinds for learning.
Local Impact Committee Structure
LICs are led by 6 key officers, who each have a team of other members working with them to achieve their goals.

CHAIRPERSON
Our LIC chairs guide the committee’s direction, leading meetings and planning for activity with InsightSTEM and locally. Chairs network around the world to share ideas and experiences.

SECRETARY
Our secretaries are responsible for sharing the records of the LIC, monitoring the membership and teams, and maintaining and sharing information online in Local and Global forums.

FUNDRAISING OFFICER
Fundraising Officers and their teams work with InsightSTEM to seek creative ideas to fund local activities - both for InsightSTEM’s offerings of local workshops and training, and to support other local initiatives.

MEDIA OFFICER
Media officers and their crews find innovative ways to communicate and share local needs for STEM exploration and learning, the impacts of InsightSTEM though photos, video, blog posts, and more.
L
LOGISTICS OFFICER
Logistics Officers and their squads help InsightSTEM find great venues, host fantastic events, make sure arrangements are in place, and help ensure that all goes smoothly locally for InsightSTEM and LIC events.

NETWORKING OFFICER
Networking Officers and their unit help expand InsightSTEM locally: reaching out to teachers, university and high school students, and young STEM professionals to grow the InsightSTEM community.
Other LIC members can join a team, or teams, depending on their interests. All LIC members receive professional learning experiences from InsightSTEM and others!
